How long do sessions last?

The initial assessment typically lasts about 90 minutes. The individual sessions last between 45-55 minutes.

How often will sessions be scheduled?

This is somewhat dependent on the specific client and the presenting issues. Typically I like to try to meet once per week for 3-4 weeks and then reassess if that is still the most helpful frequency or if we want to adjust to bi-weekly. You’re encouraged to advocate for the frequency that you feel works best for you and I’ll always explain if I feel the frequency needs to be more often than your preference.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

This is a question that doesn’t have a definitive answer! For some clients, they meet their goals and feel that the issues that brought them to therapy are resolved within several months and for some, their therapeutic journey lasts longer! I encourage you to collaborate and advocate for yourself in terms of when it feels like you’re “done” with the process!

How do I schedule my initial assessment?

You can submit the Contact form and I’ll reach out to coordinate our schedules. You can also email me or call me directly so that we can coordinate. Please note that I don’t answers calls during sessions, so email is the best way to initiate communication!

Telehealth sessions are hosted through Simple Practice, which is the electronic health records system that FeelEnright Counseling, LLC uses. You’ll be sent a link (depending on your preference, it’ll come via email or text) for the session. If you’ll be using a cell phone for you telehealth session, it’s recommended to download the free Simple Practice app. If using a computer, you can just follow the link.

How do I cancel/reschedule my session?

The best way to do this is to text me (240-309-2353). And please keep in mind that I have a 24-hour cancellation policy and a fee associated with late cancellations/no shows.

What is a ‘Good Faith Estimate”?

This is a form that I provide you that shows the amount of money you’ll be paying for therapy. This is based on a federal law to help prevent surprises charges/fees for consumers.

If you have other questions about the therapy process that are not addressed here, feel free to reach out to me!
